Any recurring task in my studio that takes up time of me doing it manually, is a challenge for me. Why? Well, I try and find a way to automate it to save time and helps me be as consistent as possible in my photography and coaching business (how many times have you forgotten to store information or follow up on a client on time? Right!)!
As a coach I own a private Facebook Group and as a photographer who wants to build a profitable business you should too.
Facebook Group Requests
You probably have the 3 Member Entry Questions set up for people who want to join your group. (If not, start today!)
✅ You can use those questions to help you create do market research. So use your group wisely and ask the right questions so you get to know your audience (or ideal client) better.
✅ You can also use one of the questions to ask for an email address and use those to build your email list. I offer our free e-zine on Booking More Clients, so they leave their email address more quickly. (Some people don't want the guide, so they skip the question.)
Use Facebook Questions To Grow Your Email List
When I opened up my group and admitted people in, I quickly found out that all their answers disappear and I could never retrieve their answers and email address ever again... So, what did I do? I started to screenshot the answers and paste the answers into an excel sheet before admitting anyone.
But this took me a lot of time! I got so sick of this after a few days and then I saw a free training by Colleen Jeffs and Paul Reed that gave me the solution.
They did their training on Group Leads.
It's a Chrome extension that allows you to track the answers to all the questions and puts them into a Google sheet for you to keep forever.
But here's the best bit... (if you thought that was good you're going to love this)!
I have gone one step further and linked Group Leads with my CRM - Active Campaign.
So when people give us their email address to receive our free guide, Group Leads sends the contact's details to Active Campaign where a new contact record is created and then Active Campaign sends out our freebie for us - automatically.
All I needed to do to trigger this event was to accept the person into the group. 👍
You can also set this on Auto Pilot to accept members who meet certain criteria, but I like to assess group requests manually.
I like to check everyone who comes into my group beforehand, otherwise you won't see who just joined unless you do some detective work after.
So for anyone who is still doing this manually - you no longer have to.
Save Time on Expensive VA's
Group Leads is relatively cheap when you compare how much time you spend tracking these answers manually. Or you have to hire a VA to do this task for you. Now this is no longer needed!
